Living in Bournemouth

Bournemouth has become a popular destination, ideally located with easy access to London, trains to Waterloo take approximately 1hr 40 mins.

As a town Bournemouth is attracting significant investment which is improving all its amenities, making it a clear destination of choice.

Bournemouth also offers a host of free to attend attractions and offers a lifestyle choice for families, retirees and business driven individuals. It has a strong tourism industry attracting investors to the area, and with its 7 miles of award winning blue flag beaches offers a desirable location for a second home. It also has easy access to the beautiful New Forest National Park which offers another whole world of adventure.

The area is serviced by two international airports - Bournemouth and Southampton. These make Europe and the channel islands easily accessible. For those who prefer a more sedate form of travel, there are the famous Southampton and Poole docks where you can board a ferry or impressive cruise liners to many destinations.

With this in mind it is no surprise that Bournemouth has seen property price increases, coming second in a national league table of property price growth in 2017. Bournemouth is fast becoming known the Riviera of the South Coast.

Dean Park

Dean Park is bounded by the Wessex Way, the railway and Wimborne Road and it forms part of the Dean Park estate. Originally planned in the 1860s, it has spacious plots, becoming smaller towards the north, arranged along wide curving roads and in the residential circuses around the focal points of Horseshoe Common and the cricket ground. There is an abundance of mature trees along the roads and in the heavily wooded Horseshoe Common, which links directly into the shopping area along Old Christchurch Road.

Charminster

Charminster is a residential and commercial suburb of Bournemouth in Dorset, situated between the suburbs of Springbourne (to the south-east) and Winton (to the north-west). Charminster’s cosmopolitan and vibrant High Street benefits from an array of shops, multi-cultural Restaurants and Cafe’s. The high street helps give Charminster a youthful feel whilst still keeping a traditional appeal.

Meyrick Park

One of the most sought-after locations in Bournemouth is Meyrick Park. A leafy residential area with 120 acres of scenic parkland at its core. One of the biggest advantages of Meyrick Park is its location: it is perfectly located just 10 minutes' walk from Bournemouth's town centre.

Winton

Winton is located just over one mile north of Bournemouth town centre. It’s a busy suburb, popular for shopping, with a delightful farmers’ market taking place on the third Saturday of every the month in Cardigan Road. There’s some beautiful and striking buildings on the high street including the old Fire Station on Peter’s Hill, Saint Luke’s Church and what was the art-deco Moderne Cinema building, now known as the Lifecentre.

Springbourne

Springbourne in Bournemouth is a large residential area with thriving business and tourist trade due to its easy access to the beach and excellent transport links. Sitting just north of Boscombe, it’s boundaries are Northcote Road to the west, Ashley Road to the east, the Wessex way to the north and the railway line to the south. The main road, Holdenhurst Road, was previously the primary route into Bournemouth from the north and north-east. It’s now bypassed by the A338 Wessex Way, but it’s still a main shopping street and with excellent transport links as well.

Southbourne

Southbourne is a relaxed, popular suburb of Bournemouth located next to the sea with outstanding blue flag beaches and excellent travel connections back to London. Southbourne Grove, the main shopping street has a plethora of independent, unique shops and restaurants to discover and enjoy.

Moordown

Moordown is conveniently located approximately 3 miles north of Bournemouth Town Centre. It joins Winton and extends North offering a slightly more residential feel but still has a good variety of shops, takeaways, convenience stores and even a large CO OP. There is a choice of cuisine including the popular Pizza Hut and one of the best chip shops in Bournemouth. Moordown borders not only Winton but Ensbury Park, Northbourne, Muscliffe and Lower Charminster, making it the ideal hub for commuting in any direction. Boscombe

Boscombe is located just under two miles from Bournemouth Town Centre. Home to miles of sandy beaches, the popular surf reef and free entry onto the pier, it has something for everyone. Boscombe is the perfect place to move whether you are living alone, with your partner or with a family. It offers plenty of things to do and boasts a busy high street and round the clock entertainment.
