Charminster is a residential and commercial suburb of Bournemouth in Dorset, situated between the suburbs of Springbourne (to the south-east) and Winton (to the north-west). Charminster’s cosmopolitan and vibrant High Street benefits from an array of shops, multi-cultural Restaurants and Cafe’s. The high street helps give Charminster a youthful feel whilst still keeping a traditional appeal.

The majority of the properties in Charminster are family houses but there are some pockets of students in certain roads. Most houses are Victorian, Edwardian and then move up to the 1920’s. We have found that house prices for both selling and renting in Charminster have risen recently due to a shortage of family houses becoming available.
Parks and green spaces
Located close to Charminster is Queen's Park which is one of the largest parks in Bournemouth and is home to Queen's Park Golf course. This beautiful park will take you through a range of woodland, formal golf course and informal green spaces. There is a modern playground, themed by nature using natural materials to encourage adventure play with climbing, swings and slides. With plenty of seating for children and adults and a cafe for hungry tums, families can stay and play all day. Queen's Park Golf Course is an ex-championship golf course open to the public for pay and play.

There are two main doctor surgeries in Charminster, the first being St Albans Medical Centre which is located in St Albans Crescent, the partnership provides services from both the surgery at St Albans Crescent and from their satellite clinic at East Way. Secondly there is The Panton Practice located on St Leonards Road. Also located in Charminster there are two main dental practices, the first being Charminster House dental practice located on Wellington Road and also Bright Blue Dental practice located on Charminster Road.
Shopping in Charminster
Charminster offers an array of smaller international shops but also has your larger names such as Tesco Express and The CO-OP Food.

Charminster benefits form a large selection of hair and beauty salons and the selection barber shops is endless, some of the best known are; Xellance, HI Therapies, Red Rooms and Devine hair and Beauty all located on Charminster High Street.

Charminsters transport links
Charminster has great access to the Wessex Way A338 and Bournemouth train station is on the edge of Charminser. Some other locations that are all within easy access are; Bournemouth Town Centre, the Beach, Bournemouth University and Castle Point Shopping Centre. An added bonus to Charminster is the buses with many of the most popular Yellow and Blue bus routes running through the High Street on a regular basis.
